Materials of Choice:
I started off by using anything I could find to capture an image whether it be a compact digital camera or a cellphone camera. Seeing that I started studying photography this year, a cellphone camera wouldn’t really do so I received a Nikon D90. I work with photoshop for retouching or if I create a fantasy image but believe that the image should be at least 95% completed when it is captured on the camera itself. I enjoy doing the make-up and styling for my photoshoots so I normally do all of that too. I use all sorts of odd things to create hairstyles and styling for the photoshoots; I have had a model wear an outfit I made out of potato sacks before so basically anything goes!
Goals and Dreams:
I want my art to raise questions in people’s minds and to leave a lasting psychological or philosophical impression. I go out of my way to make sure my work isn’t like anyone else’s work that I have seen before. I like to encorperate a lot of symbolism and hidden meanings in my images, some of which only certain people will understand and see. I would also like my photography to evolve in such a way as to be a medium of addressing certain aspects in life and society whilst having a nice aesthetic appeal at the same time.
What inspires you?:
Anything and everything.
Heroes:
I don’t have heroes as such but I do have people that I admire for various reasons such as intelligence, free-thinking and their artistic ability. Examples: Maynard James Keenan, Milla Jovovich, Da Vinci etc.
