Save me

Heather Rodwell

I live in the constraints of terror
Enveloping my mind, my soul, my fear.
Trapping my faith in a bottle
Of black dust.
Take me to my masters warden;
Wrap me up in swaddled clothes,
Look at me with untrained eyes
And smell the trembling depths I see.
The ground loses balance,
Falling off the cliffs of time.
I am being restrained.
Let me out –
Let me live!
Let me see the world with innocent eyes;
The eyes of a child.
Let my crystal gaze
Paint the unmarked demons
In pure light.
I am living in the constraints of terror,
Unbeknown to me.
I feel it in my flesh, my bones, my fear.
Let my master take me home.
Let me out –
Let me live!
Let my eyes see no such evil
That entrances me now.
Free me from the constraints of terror
That I will no longer be victimised
In this uncontrollable evil
Enveloping the world
