She’s an enigma to me
This one here with me
I see I still hardly know
Who it is that she be
An enigma to me
This true friend true indeed
Such love and acceptance
Through much misadventure
I can’t remember a time
Not being fond of this blonde
A time we weren’t sharing
Our own special bond
This caring friendship
I value as treasure
But this caring friend
Is beyond any measure
Many busy years it’s been
Since meeting this jeaned queen
The meeting in our teens
With deadlines ever near
And travels more oft afar
Rarely does a long while last
Without at least some words that pass
Though not without a scene or two (or maybe more)
When from outside us being close
Has been a misunderstood dose
All our shared experience
Like each hard night (and harder morning)
And each long day (and longer night)
Leaves us closer and more in sight
I’m blessed each time I get to learn
A little more of this enigma
A little more
Of this true friend. |
